The Flume
When: Sunday 12th July 2015
Where: Flaxengate, Lincoln
The Lincoln Flume is based on a concept called Park and Slide developed by artist Luke Jerram. It is described as:
“a simple architectural intervention and a playful response to the urban landscape”
The location for the Lincoln Flume water slide has been selected and Flaxengate is the venue of choice for the 90m long slip and slide!
Ticket holders will slide down a 90m long tarpaulin slide, dowsed with soapy water on an inflatable li-lo and the gradient of Flaxengate will provide an exhilarating ride generating expected speeds of over 11mph. There are car parks nearby and plenty of room for spectators.
We will be based at Café Portico along with Sim and our joint side project – our very own wood fired pizza oven housed inside an authentic Italian Piaggio Ape!
Come and join in with the fun and get a slice of the action – we look forward to see you there 🙂
Well its only Tuesday and the workshop is busy busy!
We have a Kawasaki ZX6 in for a pair of new tyres, A Ducati S4RS in for a service and a rear shock rebuild as well as a Ducati 996 which is in for a big service before a trip abroad: new chain and sprockets, belts and the works!
We’ve also collected a very nice Ducati 748 which will be prepared and hopefully available in our showroom by the weekend…keep an eye on our Bikes For Sale page for details…she’s a beauty inside and out!
So the weekend has finally arrived at long last and the party is well underway at Cadwell Park. We were hoping to stay the weekend but commitments won’t allow however tickets for Monday have arrived via Special Delivery Whoop Whoop! – lets hope the weather isn’t too bad 🙁
Hope to see you all on Monday!
What a weekend!
Adam had a great time at Cadwell Park on Friday for the Classic Bike Burn-Up Track Day – the first time the 851 has been on track and she did a grand job, didn’t miss a beat!
Sunday’s events were equally as entertaining with beautiful weather that really made some beautiful motorcycles and cars shine in all their glory…many thanks to Classic Bike Track Days and Cadwell Park for their efforts.
Adam’s 1991 Ducati 851 is prep’d and ready for this Friday’s Classic Bike Burn-Up Track Day (1st August) which is just the start of Cadwell Park’s 80th Anniversary weekend celebrations.
This fine machine has received some serious TLC with a new chain and sprockets, new timing belts, brakes stripped & cleaned, and full suspension set up….and doesn’t she look lovely!
V Duo will be at Cadwell Park on both the Friday and the Sunday so we hope to see you there!
We’ve increased in numbers with the addition of some really lovely pre-owned motorcycles in the showroom. They’re all polished, ready and waiting to be taken home by new owners! Details of these bikes and all of our available stock is listed on our ‘ Bikes For Sale’ page.
New stock includes:
Ducati 1100 Monster
Suzuki GSX-R1100 WR
Ducati 851
Ducati 1098R Troy Bayliss Limited Edition
We’ve also just taken in a Honda CB1000F on an 06 plate and an MV Agusta Brutale on a 55 plate. Both bikes need preparing for the showroom but will hopefully be added next week….so keep checking our website for details!

13th April – Meeting from 7:00am at Cafe Portico, departing 8:00am prompt
First ride out of the season in conjunction with Cafe Portico. Route map will be posted within the next few days. If you are coming along please make sure that you arrive fully fueled and ready to go as we will not be able to wait. We will be heading to Oliver’s Mount to spend the day watching the first road racing meet of the season after which you can make your own way home or join the group for the ride back to Lincoln. Entry to Oliver’s Mount for this event is £20.
With the top riders desperate to try out their new bikes, and others needing signatures for their mountain course licences, to enable them to compete in the Isle of Man, the first “Real Road Race” of the season promises to produce some excellent racing.
William Dunlop and Guy Martin out on the latest Tyco Suzuki’s, Conor Cummings making a welcome return to the Mount, and Ryan Farquhar coming out of retirement to prepare for his TT come back, all in all this meeting should produce racing equally as good as the 2013 Gold Cup.
The up and coming riders are all entered, including James Cowton, Dean Harrison, Ivan Lintin, Phil Harvey, Daley Mathison, Dan Frear and James Neesom, plus a couple of the older riders, Davy Morgan from Ireland and Paul Owen from Wales, plus Mick and Mark Goodings from Doncaster.
With this tremendous entry, and another week to go before entries close the meeting looks like being another great success for the Auto 66 Racing.
